Not because I agree in any way with the Republican death panel bullshit, or because I'm in some way against the idea of health care reform, that's not it. I hope this thing is struck down for five reasons:
1. Single-payer? Shitcanned.
2. A full public option? Shitcanned.
3. Choice? Shitcanned.
4. Funding for abortions? Shitcanned.
5. Legal mandates forcing you to buy health insurance from a private company, resulting in millions of dollars in new profits? Shitca---Oh wait no, that's exactly what this does.
Sure, they could try and add all of that back in before the senate votes, but they won't. Dennis 'tiny man, huge balls' Kucinich being the only exception, congressional Democrats are too ascared of losing their next election to fight for real health care reform. To compare these people to jellyfish would be an insult to the jellyfish race.
This bill in it's current form should be re-titled The American Insurance Company Profit Protection Act of 2009, and it should be immediately put down like Old Yeller.
