I had an opportunity to have a one night stand.  It did not feel right at the time.  I am still a virgin and I did not want to loose it to a person I had no emotional tie to.  But now when I wake up alone,  I just feel lonely.  I suppose in the long term I made the best decision.  Just tell me I made the right choice.

you did. i made the wrong choice. i got involved with a guy, lived with him, and now he's in jail. now i know what it feels like to be lonely. i cry all the time because i miss him so much. if you dont know what you're missing then its just better that way.

I have had 2 one nights. I do not regret either of them. I was so happy afterwards. There were no attachments, and that worked for me. But that does not work for everyone. There is a good chance if you had gone through with it, you would have felt rejected afterwards. Because that person would not have remained in your life. You might have even felt used. From your post, I would say you did make the right decision.

Yes and no.
Yes: Could easily have ended badly, and it's implied that you already know you want emotional connections for sex...

No: It would've been a good opportunity to learn about yourself and what you wanted as far as sex is concerned - note that I'm not really talking about methods or fetishes, I'm talking about actual sexual paradigm.

Bingo - Most people, I think, don't do well with a casual sexual paradigm. I know I don't - I'm polyamorous, that does not mean I do well with casual sex.

Some people do of course, and some thrive in both contexts.
