It's just that stupid "if you pay for it, even if it sucks, it won't be wasted if you use it (despite the fact that it is in no way helping you)!" logic...

I don't think many schools give financial aid for the spring term, but I'm actually looking into a particular school right now to try for spring (though it looks unlikely)

Your financial aid transfers with you. and as long as you are still a freshman, you are eligble for all the aid of a freshman.

If you become a transfer though, and have a years worth of credits it can change things.
