You past chains your future. If you keep thinking about how horrible yesterday was, you set yourself up to have a horrible day today. Those negative thoughts close your mind from the possibilities and opportunities that something good might happen and that today will be a truly great day.
Take a break from whatever is going on around you. Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and breathe slowly back out again. Often, writing out the events and your emotions/reactions to them can better help you deal with what is going on.
You can't get past things if you don't acknowledge them. As soon as the distraction is done, you're back to worrying about whatever it was in the first place.
Address the issues as best you can. Whatever is left, there is obviously nothing you can do about and thus you must not let that get to you so badly.
1. Say what you mean, mean what you say.
2. Always do you best, leave no room for regret.
3. Never make assumptions.
4. Don't take things personally.
