If you're looking to get back into C++ Here are some reference sites-
http://www.cppreference.com/wiki/
http://www.cplusplus.com/reference/

And if you're interested in Higher Level Languages, which generally means Dynamic ones, I suggest Ruby or Python. Ruby and Python each have decent documentation on their sites, as well as Python having Dive into Python, which is basically a book but also hosted online at:
