I spent most of high school dreaming to get out and go to college. Now that I'm a senior in college, I can't wait to go out into the real world. College has had its moments, but I've never felt like I belong. It's too distracting. Parties, social circles, etc. This summer, I was abroad in Russia and it was perhaps one of the best times of my life. I was alone with a few great people with a wealth of experiences and culture on my doorstep. I was pretty sheltered during high school, and I think I spent college trying to make up for that lost period by being obsessed with girls (I went to an all-boys high school) and partying. I only recently realized how little happiness this has brought me, and it was only last semester that I truly discovered who I wanted to be.
Some people are clinging onto senior year, but I can't wait to get out.
