Actually, it was the Australia Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) who crossed into Iraq first and for nearly 24 hours went furtherest into Iraq during the opening days of the ground war. They also had the first firefight, just forty mins inland, claiming the first kills of the ground war.

So then we begin to debate about why the Americans invaded Iraq and he built his points on it being about 9/11. This again is heavily incorrect as Iraq and Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11 and the WTC. There is also evidence that Saddam and Osama hated each other.

It seems a lot of Americans I debate with are clueless or pigheaded. Maybe its a trend or maybe American History books are wrong?
