My friend told me this once.  

Is this saying true? Has anyone been in a relationship that proves this saying to be true?

this quote is meant to make people feel better when they're in the end stages of a relationship. it's not about breaking up with someone when everything is perfectly fine.. it's about caring more about someone else's happiness than your own. and if letting someone go might make them happier.. then you should do it if you really love them.. if it's meant to be, it will be.. one way or another. life has a funny way of working things out like that.. and i have a perfect example..
the guy i'm seeing fell for me ten years ago... in high school. but i wasn't into him like that back then. i told him as much.. and he let it go and stepped back.. we lost touch over the years.. but then fate kind of brought us back together again.. and we've both grown and changed and now i feel like we're perfect for each other..
