Go to a psychologist and ask what he thinks. If you've been feeling this way for a long time, then it would be a thing to check out. It's a general feeling of sadness a lot of the time. But, I'm by no means an expert. Like I said, consulting a doctor would be a good idea.

A chemical imbalance in hormones, so yeah you're correct.
Actually, a lot of the time it has nothing to do with hormones. Don't be so naive.
Sure, the cause of it may have nothing to do with hormones but its a chemical imbalance at the end of the day. "It is related to physical changes in the brain, and connected to an imbalance of a type of chemical that carries signals in your brain and nerves. These chemicals are called neurotransmitters." "neurotransmitters may be related to a person's mood have been based upon the effects that antidepressant medications can have on relieving depression in some people. It is believed that these medications are effective because they regulate the amount of specific neurotransmitters in the brain" "changes in the chemistry of the brain, such as fluctuations in the levels of important hormones." "Serotonin is a calming brain chemical known as a neurotransmitter that allows communication between nerves in the brain and the body. It's also thought that the neurotransmitter norepinephrine may be involved in depression." depression.com healthyplace.com webmd.com wikipedia.org Oh also the credibility of a professional whom i learnt from.

Everyone with depression has a different reason for it. For many, it is situational and temporary. For others, it is a life-long battle. In both cases, a good therapist can be helpful, but in the second case, medications help too. But...the antidepressant agents can act on 3 neurotransmitters (serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine). Most people need a serotonin fix, but people like me need to be flooded with dopamine to feel normal.

I never argued it being a chemical imbalance. (I'm bipolar I know all about chemical imbalances) I just said that the chemical imbalances are not an effect of hormonal changes. Otherwise I agree with you.
