I'm currently revising for upcoming exams, and need help with Sexuality in History (a paper I'm studying).  I need to design an essay explaining sexuality as a historical construct, trouble is, I don't actually know how sexuality is a historical construct.

Is sexuality as it is seen today resultant from a combination of views from the past?  (ie The early Christian era's approach of non-reproductive sex being sinful?  Do I link this to an example from today?  Do I just state that it is linked?  Or is it simply asking for an overview of historic attitudes towards sexualities?)
