My computer which I've freshly formatted doesn't have a sound device installed it apparently says.

The CPU beeps at me when an alert pops up, but sound isn't produced through the speakers.

I formatted the computer cause someone gave it to us cause they couldn't keep it. It was filled with loads of spyware, adware, and viruses and crap, which is why I formatted it. It would've taken longer to clean it out with a virus cleaner than just formatting it.

What can I do to install a driver for the sound?

All it says is "Audio Device on High Definition Bus".

The computer states that it's not working correctly. Windows can't find the necessary driver for it when I tried to update it.

By brand/model I meant for the laptop.

Do you have any speakers or is your sound on board or something like that? Maybe try to install the drivers through your speaker's driver cd (if you have them). If it didn't come with a driver cd or you can't find a driver cd then try to google "model name drivers" replace model name with your speakers model name. Download the drivers and install them. Is it that it won't detect speakers or maybe that your sound card is malfunctioning? Try to find any cds that came with the computer, If you didn't get any is it possible that you could speak to the previous owner and ask them if they had received any when they bought it? If possible you should also asked them if they had this error. If you are convinced that it is the sound card that is faulty you could try and buy a new one, There are some really cheap USB ones available from most computer stores. Please answer some of the questions that I have submitted so that I can have more knowledge on your situation and so that I can further adjust my support to be of better quality and more relevant to your problem. If you have any questions or need advice you can PM me and I will provide you with the best support that I am capable of providing. Good luck with repairing your problem, I will submit more information that is more relevant to solving your problem when you reply.
