this happened where i got from at dads. and now my laptops battery needs replacement with the exact model on my toshiba laptop. but it can no longer hold a charge when unplugged at 89% of battery life. it goes out. my computer

That laptop seems pretty old since it only has a 10GB hard drive but if you are not looking to replace it the best thing to do would be check here. Make sure that the battery codes match or at the very least is compatible with your machine.
