This isn't so much a request for advice or an actual story but just me ranting....
So I just got out of a 5 year relationship at the end of the summer but she is still always on my mind (it was a mutual breakup since we had been together since 8th grade and we wanted to have other experiences) and since then there is only one girl I have been interested in. She is in one of my classes and lately I have been noticing her across the classroom and she is absolutely gorgeous and has a great personality. But I just found out today that she is engaged...just my luck that the one person I'm truly interested in since the breakup is already taken and most likely permanently....
Well, thats my rant, just ignore it if you wish or do whatever you want

Friendship might be a good place.
I had a girl who I was interested in once... I found out she was in engaged, so I put that interest on the backburner and moved ahead with being friends.
Now, many months later, we're great friends (in her words, I'm like adopted family), and that interest I put on the back burner pretty much dried up on it's own naturally.
