I always thought that I wanted a lot of friends. But as time goes on, I realize that I don't. As a guy, all I need are a couple of good buddies and a girlfriend. I have no interest in shallow relationships and think they're a waste of time. I do have a need to be admired though, and I think I've mistaken that for a desire to be popular.

I'm glad I realized this really early on.
Though in my case, I don't have an issue with having multiple relationships, since I'm poly. I don't actively seek multiple, rather, I advocate the possibility.
