$85 for gas, I spend about 75-80 per month. If I take any long trips, it's usually to help someone move or some shit in which case I make them pay gas.

Plus, on the rare occasion I need any repairs or want to do upgrades, I get 30-40% off parts at the local parts store by signing up for their 'Do-it-yourself club' (which was free, you just gotta ask) and I always do 100% of the work myself. To date the only things I've repaired were an ignition coil ($34), dist cap & plugs ($39), master cylinder ($54), valve cover gasket ($9).  

I put in an aftermarket carburetor, but it was not required at all so I don't count it was running costs. I just wanted a little hp and economy gain, which I got. I've also redone the interior, welded in new floor panels (didn't cost me anything, I had use of the welder and used various pieces of scrap metal I found), replaced the coolant reservoir (it served its purpose fine, but the previous owner had cut a hole in it so that it would fill itself with rain water from the hole in the hood...), and done the timing. Those are the things that either haven't cost me anything or I did for performance/appearance and not functionality.

My wage varies on wether or not i work on a weekend or not but the minimum i will earn a month will be about $1600 and maximum would be a bit over $2300.

Either way my car is not absorbing my money like you would think.
