Nope, it just becomes one solid squeak as opposed to intermittent squeaks when rolling/not braking. I also noticed under heavy braking, like the last yard or so of stopping it does grind. Not locking-up-the-tires grinding, just sort of a rubbing noise. So Tempo is trying my love again. Had an alignment done. Mechanic calls me up saying we've got a little problem. Front end tie rod is shot. Bumps up the price from $200 to $550, but its been a good month. Got in a little extra work, I've got the cash with enough money to last me through to the next pay day. Two hours later he calls saying we have a bigger problem. Rear control arms are bent on both sides. So my day went from $200 to $1,000+ in a flash.

Normally I'd agree with everything said. It is very, very expensive for a simple alignment. So the grand total today came to $317 for a new inner tie rod plus front alignment. $205 was for the alignment alone. I went to four different places. This quoted me the cheapest price. Haven't gotten the rear control arms replaced, because I'm doing that myself. I've grown tired of paying other people for shit I should be doing. That, and I finally ran out of money. In all seriousness, is it possible that my lift could have negatively effected my stock control arms? I had the stabilizer bars replaced with more sturdy units, but the control arms are one of the few things still stock/unreplaced as far as my suspension setup goes. I'm also looking around for maybe stronger or otherwise better control arms. Something to handle the pot holes. The guy let me a take a look at them when she was up on the lift, and I'm sorry, but we're looking at 20 years of Alaskan pot holes and earthquake fault line damage here.

BTW: Alaska is like Canada. Everything is more expensive. I dunno how much you're all paying for gas, but we're back to $3.13 a gallon. Meaning the Tempo is back to regular unleaded. Still, that is over a dollar off of what it was last year when it was costing over $120 to fill up the Cheyenne.

Did some quick math... $3.13 USD per gallon is equal to 95 cents CDN per litre (that is what we measure gas in here). The price of gas right now is $1.13 CDN per litre. That's $3.66 USD per gallon.
Don't get me started on Canadian fuel prices. Canada produces all it's own petrol, we have some of the biggest reserves left, yet because Canadians are stupid, we still pay prices that fluctuate with the middle eastern market. Someone blows up a pipeline- our price goes up. NONE OF OUR GAS IS COMING FROM ANYWHERE OUTSIDE OUR BOARDERS! fuck! In Saudia Arabia, gas is like $0.13 per L, because they don't put unnecessary charges on it because they produce it! What the fuck!

Ah yes, but your money is worth more. Right? Still, the point is, I'm barely making ends meet between gas and repairs. All my friends have been giving me shit, saying I'm pretty much married to my car. That she is like the older-middle-aged dominant type that doesn't let you have any fun. I don't find it too humorous. I hear you on the gas-prices-are-ridiculous subject though. There are two oil refineries less then ten miles from my door, and yet somewhere between there and the Tesoro gas station a few miles further we end up paying more per gallon then any other state.
