1) Going through tyres fast
2) Get the jack you tossed out when you skyjacked your tempo, lift up car, wiggle wheel back and forth. If it wiggles, it could be a wheel bearing (could also be tie rod ends, etc)
3) A sound like marbles in your wheel: Either during certain driving maneuvers, or all the time (if it's really bad)

I've got a squealing noise. Not loud, and only noticeable at low speeds. Won't go away though. I jacked it up and its all solid as far as I can tell.
