The English language has some serious flaws. I would go as far as to say it's a fucked up language. Over the past few years, the degradation of the language has been getting stronger and stronger. People can't seem to tell the difference between your/you're/yore or there/their/they're.
Many grammatical errors are easy to fix. Is it really that people are too stupid to actually learn that, or is it pure laziness?
Either way, I say people take a strong point on working on their grammar. When someone makes a post that uses grammar that is the equal to that of a 5 year old, they lose credibility.
Further more, if people really ARE too stupid, then why should those who correct them be called out as nit picky or assholes? Isn't education an important virtue?
Many of us don't claim a teacher is nit picky when they circle a misused "Your" on a paper. Just because they have it as career does that mean they are the only ones who should call out bad grammar?
No, it doesn't. I think that anyone who uses correct grammar should be able to call out someone who uses poor grammar. No matter who it comes from, it is still education.
That being said, I do not claim to have perfect grammar. I do make mistakes, and am a terrible speller. However, grammar is something I tend to do well in.
