Seoul, Korea

During the year I can't wait for summer to arrive so I can spend it in Seoul. Whenever I'm in Seoul I feel like I'm free and happy hanging out with family and friends and visiting my Grandma, who I only get to see in Winter and Summer. Seoul can really be considered a city that never sleeps, you can leave your home at 2am and still find plenty to do anyday of the week. But, Seoul is more than just sky scrapers and busy lifestyle, it also has some slices of the past and our history, right inside the city there are 4 ancient palaces which are preserved. I can't express in words how much I love this place, and no matter where I live I will always consider Seoul my home.

I live in Penzance in Cornwall. Cornwall is pretty famous for having the best beaches in England, and I'm surrounded by said beaches where I live which is awesome during the summer as we tend to get the best of England's weather down here too.

Picture is of St. Michael's mount, just off Marazion beach about 3 miles from Penzance town centre. It is a little island with a castle that was under siege during the War of Roses and the Civil War. You can walk to the island during low tide or catch a boat when the tide is higher. It is very pretty and has a lot of history so is a very interesting visit, not to mention all the exercise you get walking right up to the castle! Takes a long time but is worth it.

Penzance town centre is relatively small but has everything you need really: quite a few shops, a cinema, cafes, an arcade, two spacious and relaxing parks, 3 play parks for children, art galleries and museums.

All in all, Penzance is a pretty idyllic place to live; the pace of life is quite slow but the nearest big city is 45 minutes away by car so you can easily get the best of both worlds.

This here is one of the many entrances to my beloved city, San Francisco.  The sign on the right marks the legal boundary.  The fog, which is a common resident of this place year-round, casts a layer of uncertainty over the city.  Sometimes certain areas are left uncovered, in the pseudo-climates that form through this hilly place.  Symbolically, I'd say that the fog represents the many aspects of culture and society that are generally left covered up here.  Every single neighborhood has different kinds of people, doing different kinds of things, in completely different situations.  Homelessness is a huge problem, but they are legitimate residents who call san francisco home.  Amidst all the problems, there is beauty scattered throughout this place.

That was kind of vague.  Whatever.  I'm gonna miss this place when I leave for college this fall :(
