this happened to me but it ended up that he was busy with someting and he couldent text back(idk if that was true or not) but if you like him and really wanna hang with him it dosnt hurt to call or leave it alone he would call if he wants to go and if he dosnt just movie on and find a better guy [[:

no i don't think that would be smart, personally. . mostly because you never kno what he's really thinking if you were to call, after you texted him....so just wait till the replies
if a guy likes you and you take the initiative, he will always respond. there could be a problem with his phone though, or he could just have not been near it. give it a day and try again or something
