... someone tells you not to worry over something that you obviously have to (and should) worry about.

At the same time, it's not irritating because I realize the person is trying to be supportive in some sense... but sometimes it feels like that's all that needs to be said and things will be better...

Oh well, anyone else get irritated when someone says something like, "don't worry" when it's obviously something that is going to be worrisome?

Getting rid of your emotions is extremely difficult to do.  And assuming that worrying is petty and useless is also rather ridiculous.

Though if you're implying that irritation is petty and useless, then I can agree with that.

I think emotions are useless. I don't  really have many anymore except anger. I'm trying to get rid of that one.
Now I don't have to worry or anything. Emotions get in the way of things I want to do or should do.

Yup, and I can't blame them for that.  At least they tried, you know?

I think for anyone it's impossible to get rid of all emotions.  Maybe you can stop showing them, but you can't get rid of them.  Of course, you know youself better, but it's just my personal thought that there's no way to get rid of them.  Even having an opinion, and arguing that opinion, has some form of emotion involved in it... otherwise, why would you even mention it or argue it?

And at the end of the day, an emotion like worrying is healthy in it's own sense.  If you don't care about anything (though being indifferent is it's own emotion), then you may not get anything done about it.

I argue because I'm annoyed, which is sort or like a watered down angry. and I haven't gotten rid of that yet. I really don't care about anything. Its a good thing most of the time. I just have friends that wish I cared.
I dont think you should get rid of emotion completely just harden up so not much affects you.

In some sense, I suppose I'm fairly 'hard' if you will.  I just keep to myself most of the time.  My aunt and mother were both quite surprised when I was happy about my sister's wedding... my aunt thought I didn't care about anything.

But I still disagree with arguing being annoyance.  Yes, that's true, you would be annoyed.  But why are you arguing what you're arguing.  What tie do you have to your point that makes you stand by it and get annoyed if someone is arguing against it?

I'm susceptible to emotions, and that I knwo is true, but as I said, I keep them to myself.  However, worrying is something that I typically do.  When they're taking my paychecks away for four months, reducing my financial aid (and probably taking away my grants), and my only way to get to college is threatening to go on strike, it's difficult not worrying.

Most of the time I argue because I'm angry at what the person is saying or annoyed that they don't understand my point and I'm trying to explain to them
thats why I argue.

thats why I argue.

That makes sense, but personally it's not something I agree with.  If you didn't care then you wouldn't be annoyed.  There has to be some initial emotion that causes it to be something you can get annoyed about.

Why does it matter that they don't see your point?  Why is your point important to you, and why does it annoy you if you aren't agreed with?

Again, that's just my personal opinion.  Like I said, you know yourself far better than I do.  But that's just how I view things.

Alright.  But I did mention that I understood your point, and, unlike you, I don't consider your point unimportant.  There's a difference between not understanding and not agreeing.  I have no reason to agree with your point when I have a point that's equally developed opposing it.

Just remember, when you get irritated that someone doesn't agree with ~you~, you are simultaneously not agreeing with ~them~.  And at the end of the day, what immediately makes you correct as opposed to the other.

You said bye once and you came a second time.  You have no obligation to respond back, nor do I.  However, I'm bored, and I'll respond.  I'm not talking to nor arguing with you, I'm just responding to a point.  There's not more to it than that.
