What part of N.Y?
It doesn't make any difference. Any part of New York is better than Florida any time.

I would take Tama Bay-St.Pete over western N.Y!

the tampa bay area is no good. the east coast of FL is better.

where i grew up, there weren't a lot of old people, and the weather was beautiful 99% of the time. the atlantic seabreeze keeps things cool.
i really don't see what's not to like. besides mosquitoes, but you can avoid them easily enough.

All that I experienced there was serious humidity, strong wind and heavy rain, and a staggering amount of old people, lol. Really, really conservative old people. I understand that other areas are entirely different, but that totally ruined the experience for me. Having traveled all over New York, from the boroughs in NYC where I live to upstate New York, hours away and pretty much into the countryside, I could never picture myself in Florida.

I hate to perpetuate the "old people and humidity" idea that many Florida residents are trying to do away with, but it just isn't for me. :/

the humidity doesn't bother me at all. i kind of like it. i went to las vegas once and the air was so dry...i felt like i always needed something to drink.

idk what you consider "old." in my hometown there were a lot of people in their 30s and 40s, but that's not old to me. i mean i'd rather be around a lot of adults than mostly stupid naive teenagers.
