That's not a lie. If you feel compulsive need to do a certain behavior, it would be pretty difficult not to do it. People who have OCD do these behaviors more often when they're really anxious; it makes them feel calmer.

You're right in the fact that "Mind over matter" does work, especially with OCD. But a lot of people don't have the strength to overcome it very easily.

(My best friend has a bad case of OCD; I'm not just speaking as a random bystander, btw)

I have ocd and this is partially true

You can't make it go away forever however you can learn how to keep it under control and have it occur less frequently

No.  It's gone.  I convinced myself I didn't have to succumb to it.  So after a while, it vanished completely.  It no longer plagues me.
