Hm...I actually lost forty pounds and dropped to 135 lbs. I'm 5'6". The thing was that losing weight sort of became my obsession, and that's what I was doing. I was losing weight- just that. I started lifting weights and things, and now the scale says I'm 150 lbs, but here's the thing. I look better with the extra twenty pounds of muscle. I don't think the goal should be to be skinny. It should be to be healthy. There's difference between being skinny to where someone can count your ribs and being skinny with some muscle. Although, on a survey, and interesting note is that most people said an ideal woman would be 5'7" and weigh 100 lbs. That is very underweight, and some models that weighed that actually died of heart attacks from inadequete nutrition. The truth is there is no perfect woman. Skinny, fat, it doesn't really matter. What matters is how healthy you are and how you, yourself, think of yourself.

This is honestly a great post; good for you for writing it. When I was in middle school, I was a good thirty pounds overweight and despite what I did to try and lose it, I just couldn't. It turned out that my thyroid gland was not functioning properly. My doctor prescribed me some medication, and I was able to attain a healthy weight. My point is that you're absolutely right. When people walk down the street and make judgements about people based on their weight, it's ridiculous. Just because someone is a size 12 instead of a size 2 doesn't make them a bad person. Plus, not every overweight person is your typical couch potato or lazy bum. Like you said, it could be because of illness, surgery, stress, anything! Keep your head up and don't let people tell you that you aren't beautiful. They don't know what they're talking about and chances are they have a problem with their own identity if they can't accept yours.

Skinny is awesome, I agree. But I just prefer that look. It's my preference, I have to admit.
