Anonymous isn't just protection from people you know in real life. It's also to hide from people on here, like if you didn't want things that you would prefer to be private linked directly to you. I think that if there IS a quick message box on anon, it should be messaging without knowing the anonymous person's identity.

Friends can be considered either online friends OR otherwise, given that real-life aqquaintences was specified separately from frineds.

sorry, i got a little off track in my reasoning there. i know that anonymous helps protect you from e-friends. when i said "people you know in real life" i should've said "friends". the chances that a person messaging you (when you're anonymous) is a friend are pretty small.

But there IS still that possibility. I agree that there should be a quick message box to the OP, but they should have the right to remain anonymous during these PMs, AND whether or not they want to receive them.

Possibly when you create your account after being here for X amount of days you are allowed to create an "anonymous name" or something to that effect no one would see it unless you pm'd them then it could show something along the lines of "Anonymous:Garfunkle" instead of your actual user name.
