Basically the idea is to have topics where the OP is anonymous have a quick message feature. The OP could turn on or off this feature, and it allows people to quick message the person without ever finding out their idenitity. The same could go vice versa: the OP could PM somebody who REPLIED to the topic anonymously.

I'm not quite sure how this would work, but I think it would be a helpful feature. Thoughts?

I think that the person is anonymous because they don't want to be pestered. So I don't think members should be able to PM the anonymous OP. But I do agree with anonymous members being able to message members who post in the same thread.

I think this is a good idea, but I prefer the vice versa option; the OP able to message people who reply to the topic anonymously. I don't see why, other than in response to something the OP has messaged them, someone should be able to message the anonymous OP.

I think it'd cause too many problems; I prefer it that the OP is able to seek further help through PM's if they [b[need it; if people were able to message the OP freely then I think they'd be flooded with messages, the majority of which, in all likelihood, would be 'I can help if you want!', which, while as nice gesture, isn't hugely helpful...

I don't know if I've come across very clearly, I've only just woken up, sorry...

how about having a quick message box on the OP without the anonymous messaging since anonymous is protection from people you know in real life and the chance of the person who wants to message you being somebody you know in real life is pretty slim
