I can't have my charger in my computer when my lap top is on. I used to, but whenever I put it in, the screen goes black. The computer doens't turn off, everythings still on, but the screen is dark.

HOW CAN I FIX IT!? It's not the charger, because we had to get a new one, it's the computer...

It has to be some setting. Check in control panel. Do you have it set so the computer goes into sleep mode while charging?

Thats an issue with the settings. Go into the settings for power options, and change the hibernation settings for battery/plugged in.

Does the screen turn black or just dim? If it just dims, look for a setting in the Function (F1-F12) keys on the keyboard. There should be little cryptic icons there (or on other keys) that are the same color as the Fn key. Hold the Fn key then press one of those buttons (maybe a sun? to make the screen brighter?) a few times.
