Ok my trucks rear speaker port sucks cause it is for a 4X6. I was wondering if there would be any downsides to cutting the hole bigger to fit a 6X9?

Check for anything important before cutting and just be careful. If you can remove the part you're cutting the hole out of, it'll be much easier.
