At my parents office, there is a fax machine... Can I hook up the cord that is going to the fax into the computer, and connect to the internet?
If so, do I need software? HELP!

No you don't need software. But you need a number to dial up to. So it'd have to be a free isp or something. Dial-up though? You can't find some free wireless or something?

It's probably more effort than it's worth. Do you have a wifi card in your laptop? I'd say just go down to a coffee shop and you can get free wifi that way.
