How often do you leave the EU?

I leave Texas, my country, on a regular basis, but haven't been to England Germany or Holland since the mid 80s...

I am considering going on holiday to Germany next summer though.

"How often do you leave the EU?"

I have been to Canada for (a total of) four weeks (plus three weeks coming up this Christmas), and I have been to Chile for (a total of) seven weeks.

Usually, I go abroad (outside of the EU) twice a year (summer and winter).

And I'm not a rich Mummy's boy. I pay for it all myself with very unpleasant (refuse collection) part time jobs.

Eh, I lived in Germany for about three years, but I remember more about our trips to London and Holland than I do about the years in Germany, other than the television shows there and the snow.  We got to the USA shortly before my 4th birthday.

I am still trying to get into Korea, will make it one of these days.

We should really end what has become a private conversation in the public forum.

Guilty of thread-hijacking in the extreme. Our wrists may be slapped.

The new test is much better. I passed it in time and did not cheat (look up answers). Thank you for the time limit. No more google-intellectuals.

And STOP giving out answers. I hope you "intellectuals" know that other members can read our topics if not reply.

I love Americans, but not when they try to talk French.
What a blessing it is that they never try to talk English.

The best solution to idiots who cheat on the test is just to deputize someone to stalk this forum with a n00b-rifle taking out anyone who can't spell "authentication."

Lo.

As a student of psychology and a former research assitant I can say with a certain amount of authority that the test is pretty good for its purpose.

However:
The republican question is silly. I know of many intellectually strong teenagers who don't know jack about american politics.

"A lot" is used incorrectly in the test. Observe -
"There are alot of sheep in my linguini."
"I have a lot on which I park my car".

'A' used alone is always an article. "A lot" means a piece of land. "Alot" means, well, alot of something

Having said that the test is still pretty good bearing in mind that the demographic it is being aimed it is extremely narrow I am not surprised that it performs so well.

ciao

"Alot" does not mean anything. It is an incorrect shortening of "a lot".

I hope you don't use "alot" in your research papers, Mr Andrew.

None would use "a lot" either. His point is legitimate about the grammatical function of 'a' in 'a lot'. Both phrases are generally limited to speech or non-formal writing. There are more widely used alternatives (mainly, 'many').

Parents don't really know much logic. Well at least my parents don't. But heck, I'm proud to make my first post in this wonderful forum*cough*

I've just read to up to page 5, so if something like thise was said on page 5, my bad....

Firstly That test seems a little unfair, For a start us europeans are at a natural disadvantage when it comes to awnsering questions about american politics, and even the question about europe stumped me for a minute or so......the one that got me was the question on word order, i worked out what two it wasn't so i then guessed.

I really don't think math or science is really needed.....

Also, Instead of test wouldn't a better system be like the one we have for "support" - show 10 posts of yada yada - couldn't we simply make this forum more 'elistist' is the same/similair way?

I think that would be a much fairer system, at the end of the day my inteligence means little, its what i contribute what counts.

so in assessing memebers would it be better for others to "nominate" members here?
