So, with December here (well fine, around the corner. Two days is close enough, no?) and Christmas right around the corner, I figured Id pull out a new contest. Theme Twelve Days of Christmas Rules 1. Must be a form of visual art, be it drawing, painting, photography, etc. If you wish to use photoshop, you must have created/ taken the original image, and must post a copy of the original image along with your entry 2. Must include at least one day, can include more. 3. Must be your own work. 4. Each member may only submit three entries. Posts may be edited as many times as you like until the contest closing date, so if you change your mind about what you'd like to submit, you may. Contest Runs Today (Nov. 29) - Jan. 7 (to give those of us who are away over the holiday season a chance to put in last minute entries/ judge) Judges and judging Myself wolverineh8ter jamesish monkeydoodle77 I am no longer accepting judges Each of us will pick our top five. #1 will recieve 5 points, #2 4 points, etc based on which entry strikes us the most, aesthetically, and which fits the theme of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" the most. Images with the most points will win. Prizes Yet to be determined. Please donate to the contest page. Current points: 1st - 347 points 2nd - 214 points 3rd - 140 points Entries None yet. There seems to be some confusion about the theme. To clear this up, I give you the Twelve Days of Christmas: On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: 12 Drummers Drumming Eleven Pipers Piping Ten Lords a Leaping Nine Ladies Dancing Eight Maids a Milking Seven Swans a Swimming Six Geese a Laying Five Golden Rings Four Calling Birds Three French Hens Two Turtle Doves and a Partridge in a Pear Tree (obviously, there are more verses, counting the days up from 1, and adding a new set of items each day.) The image must depict at least one of the previous lines. Eg. You can draw a picture of day six, showing "six geese a laying", or some such thing Post edited at 7:47 am on Dec. 3, 2008 by Discordany

Oh, dont be silly. So am I.
christmas is a religious holiday. it seems a lot of people forget that. fine. i'll draw something, but it'll be with all the sentiment i have for christmas.
I realize its religious, being raised Catholic. Birth of Christ and all that. In fact, in finding the lyrics to add into my main post, I found a site talking about the religious significance of each of the days in the lyrics. However, there is no arguing that the celebration has become largely secularized and is celebrated by many/most people regardless of religious background. This contest is in the spirit of the season, not the spirit of the religion.
