Yes, I've read New Moon, and it's not 99% as you say it is. I'ts also about Bella being placed in the center of a horrible love triangle. She knows she could possibly love Jacob, but shouldn't. She knows she does love Edward, and, yet, again, shouldn't. It's all about the forbidden love. It's hardly as you put it. Again, you're reading into things, that aren't there. Can't you just fucking enjoy a book, for what it is, and what it states, not what you want it to be, and what you pretend it says? I thought it was the best of the series. You can't say 'it's the worst of the series' in a factual matter, like that. Again, opinion vs fact. Might I suggest knowing the difference between th two, your holiness?

I'm not reading into anything; I'm taking the entire book at face value
You're taking it as YOU see it, not as it's written!
Something that's strictly about a love triangle doesn't involve chapters that are simply the names of months because the main character is catatonic
You make no sense, whatsoever.
or her every moment of happiness being disrupted by thoughts of "how can I put myself in danger/almost kill myself so that I can hear Edward's voice again?"
She was confused/lost. She didn't do it, strictly for Edward. She did it, b/c of that confusion.
There was no love triangle there, at least not one with any suspense. Even Bella knew that it was ultimately going to be Edward or death.
There was, and remains in the series, a love traingle. She fell for Jacob, in a way she didn't, with Edward. It's obvious, to anyone who is literate.
I'm trying to figure out why you're getting so upset over this
Because I'm sick and tired of ignorant holy fools like you claiming their way or the fucking highway.
It's like the world is ending because someone quite possibly is pointing out the fact that these books are actually kind of poorly-written.
You keep asserting it's poorly written, but you have nothing to back it up. That's trolling, and shifting the burden. You also kep claiming it's poorly written, as fact, when it's NOTHING BUT YOUR OWN FUCKING OPINION. OPINION =/= FACT. Do you get that, yet, asshat?

LOL Throwing a tantrum doesn't make you right, don't you know?
And you claiming your opinion as fact doesn't make you right, neither.
f it's not poorly written, all you have to do is find one literary critic of repute, just one, who agrees with you. I'll be waiting. Until then, take your shitfits to your LiveJournal and calm your ass down. It's a book series, not your child.
Okay, honey, I don't listen to critics. I live my own life, like what I like, and do what I do, because it's fun for me. I don't give a rat's ass what anyone else says, especially a critic. They're often so full of themselves, it's not even funny. Much like you, ironically. Just because a critic says it's bad, doesn't make it a fact. That's still just an OPINION. Goddess, you are fucking dense! It's just like with Shakespeare. So fucking what if a few critics say it's the rockinest poetry in the world? That doesn't make it a fact. Those are still opinions. Opinion vs Fact. Get it, yet?

I'm going out to see the film tomorrow. I haven't read the books, nor do I want to (seen excerpts online and I have no intention of reading something so badly written). I'm keeping an open mind about the film. I'm going with one friend who'll be going for the 3rd time and another who'll be going for the 2nd (tell me, what IS the point of going to see the same film THREE TIMES?), so there must be SOMETHING good about it, eh?
Admittedly, there are parts that aren't eye-clawingly horrible (ironically, the "bad guy" vampires are one of those parts, as is the father Charlie, who's little more than a prop in the books). Similarly, there are a handful of scenes and lines that have gone from "soooo bad" to "hilarious" (my personal favorite is still the sparkling scene, in which Edward's chest makes "twinkling" noises and in which he declares, "This is the skin of a KILLER"), so there's that. Good enough to see three times? I don't know about that.

Well, I finally got round to seeing the film, as last time my plans fell through. It was okay, but I wouldn't bother seeing it again and I'm still not going to bother reading the books. It was enjoyable because it did have a plot and it wasn't a stereotypical teen flick, but there were some things that stuck out. Firstly, Edward and Bella were just downright annoying (and downright rude!). Secondly, I failed miserably to swoon as the makeup was just too overbearing. Thirdly, the music was amazingly out of context. Finally, it didn't really seem to hold together quite right. Edward and Bella never said a nice word to each other, and one minute she hates him and then the next she's going on about how certain she is that she's in love with him. Whatsisname who was after Bella (James? I dunno, but he had really badly parted hair) didn't really seem to have any reason for doing so either (maybe it's clearer in the book). Not a bad film, but not an especially brilliant one either.

Havent read much of the book but as far as i can tell it's written very poorly and the movie had terrible dialogue.

It just keeps getting funnier and funnier... Dakota Fanning lands 'New Moon' role:
After months of speculation, ET has confirmed that Dakota Fanning will join Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and company in "Twilight"'s highly anticipated sequel, "New Moon." Fanning, 15, will sink her teeth into the role of the young vampire, Jane in the film, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters on Nov. 20, 2009. Chris Weitz will direct the new movie, based on the second book in author Stephenie Meyer's mega-popular vampire series. Fanning most recently starred in "The Secret Life of Bees" and "Push," and voiced "Coraline." And she's currently negotiating to play lead singer Cheri Currie in "The Runaways," the biopic of the '70s all-girl band that has already booked "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart to play Joan Jett.
