Okay so i was talking to my friend about gay rights and he said that he could never be so outspoken like i am because he couldn't deal with being assumed gay and i was thinking about all the work that i do and stuff and i want to know what you think based on my activities and not the actual fact that i'm straight and i'm supportive b/c i'm an ally.
1)i'm an executive of the gay straight alliance at school
2)i'm going to a gay/straight conference on anti homophobic bullying
3)I've been to the gay village with friends/ queer movie nights (gays and straights)
4) I was asked to apply to battle homophobia with the minister of education for my province.

so... should i just accept that people will think i'm gay ? (i don't really care, i'm just wondering how it's perceived)

I'm in a similar position. I head the GSA at my school and am very outspoken for many friends who've more or less been pressured into silence.

I'm working on a project for my government class and my topic happens to be gay rights. I'm positive that some people will certainly assume I picked the project because I'm a lesbian, when that's not the case. I don't care what they think. My cause and what I plan to make known during my presentation doesn't change who I am, only what they may think of me and may think of the subject. Who cares what people assume? It's the people who care about you that matter.

Out of all the fights out there, you're standing up

Unfortunately, I would not think you are gay.  HOWEVER, if you were a guy, I, honestly probably would.  When a girl is into gay rights, I see them as more as a 'fag hag' than a lesbian.  However, if a guy is into gay rights, well, I just see them as a....'fag.'  I am fulfilling my own prophecy though, I am pretty vocal in my support of gay rights, and people think I am gay....or call me gay....but it doesn't phase me, since I don't think being called 'gay' is an insult.

With your agenda it would appear to be assumed that you are gay.    However if you are passionate about it, and you apparently are, I would continue to work for the movement and not be concerned about the label.  Eventually your actions will speak for themselves.
