Safe internet browser (not IE)
Adobe Reader (it has quite a few vulnerabilities and there are lots of PDFs online)

is defragging really worth the time? people seem to be recommending it to me so often, but it doesn't seem to offer any noticable performance increase.

defragging is good........but if u do it too often it cna create hd errors its recommended to do it about once evry two eweeks if u dont do anything but stay on the internet and if u download alot o it once a week
