unfortunatly it is that vast diversity of cars that has proven to be GM's weakness. What they really need to do is downsize as much as humanly possible, pick a reliable Make name and stick with it (personal suggestion would be Chevy)

Any investments they make at all right now should be in cheapest possible, fuel effecient tech. That's my opinion. I just want to see at least some of it to stay afloat.
