I agree with KweenZ. Africa was doing just fine, they didnt need anyones help. Back then it was a very successful. YOu should really know the facts before you talk about this stuff.

Just out of curiosity, where are you with your education?  Is it in your fifth year at a university getting a degree in history?  Otherwise, don't lecture people on their education unless you know what said education is.  You can call me stupid.  That's more of an opinion than anything else.  However, my education can't really be called into question by anyone on this site.

I'm sure it might have been just fine.  Of course, this isn't a topic about the effect of the slave trade on Africa.  It's a topic about the effect of the slave trade on modern black people in Western countries who prosper while those "fortunate" ones whose forefathers weren't sold into slavery die in poverty and famine and epidemic.

Well lets look back. If the country hadnt been changed dramatically by the western countries, and they were in fact doing fine.. Then that means that they wouldnt be in a famine and epidemic right now. THINK duh. If the western countries hadnt ravaged it then africa wouldnt be in the state its in now-- IT WOULDNT BE THIRD WORLD.. which means there would be reason to "thank slave owners" or even bring up this topic that im "searching for" and if you're going to say something like modern black people owe slave owners you cant just expect someone to focus on the present with that radical statement and think about all points of the argument. Because that would be a very one-sided closeminded [and IGNORANT] argument.

How do you know that? The only thing we can know for sure at this precise moment in time is:

1) Africans were taken from Africa and made slave in America

2) Africa is currently a continent filled with 3rd world nations, death, and despair.

3) The US is a first world nation filled with wealthy, fed, clothed, and housed descendents of the slaves who were taken from Africa.

No. He's right. The superior technology and highly organized governmental structure of the African people is what allowed them to so successfully repel the Europeans. The Africans had guns, cannons, warships, and highly structured empires while the tribal Europeans had only sub-standard Iron-age close combat weapons and hide armor.

They had kingdoms -- which means no need for a western governmental structure which they still try to impose on everyone to this day. And who says that highly advanced WEAPONS make for a great country? I think weapons are one of the number one problems in the world now so I think Africans had the right idea. They obviously werent concerned about devastating mankind for their own financial gain as much as your beloved white man was

it's not how much you've been tought, its if you know how to use it. somethings are true, yes ppl now are more comfortable than they would be in africa, but the blacks shouldn't be thankful to the whites for taking their forefathers and treating theem like shit.
they should be thankful things turned out the way they did, if they feel they're happy living like they do.
