If your eligible for an upgrade because you've already had your contract for 2 years, when it's up it is up. It won't cost you a dime to cancel. Signing up for a new service shouldn't cost you anything either, unless your credit sucks.

You phrased it as your contact has been up for some time. So I am not sure what your getting at. My mother works for Verizon Wireless. So I have a very good understanding of how these companies work.

I signed onto a 2 year contract on April 13th, 2006, I extended the contract on November 17th 2007 to reduce the minutes.

No. I would have been being as I've been on the contract for going on 3 years next month, but I extended it 2 years because I reduced my minutes from 1400 to 700.
