My computer is running slower

Hey, my computer has started to run slower than normal.

I hadn't shut it down for a couple of days because when I was done, I was just put it on "sleep."

I shut it down fully, and ever since, it's been acting slow.

But it's only slow when it comes to rebooting or returning from sleep.

It's not infected with any viruses or anything like that - I've checked.  I have downloaded some programs that I'm gonna uninstall and I started using the Vista Sidebar again, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Help?

It might not be this and you might not be willing to try this either but if you open up your computer (which you should be able to do just by sliding off the side panel) there are these two rectangular shaped chips (or cards, if you prefer that term). They should be parallel to each other and be held in place by clips on either side of each chip. Try removing one of them and then starting your computer up without it. If it's still not running properly then put that one back and try removing the other one. This might work but if it does, you'll eventually want to buy a new chip to replace the one you removed.
