I was on my way to a full ride basketball scholarship until I blew out my knee. Now I have non-athletic scholarships and grants, and my parents and I share the rest. They pay the bulk of it, but I do contribute.

My parents are going to help me the best they can, but neither of them are wealthy so I can't expect them to pay it all. My grandpa has given me college bonds every year as a birthday gift for 17 years. I've never been grateful til now. I'm applying for scholarships and I'll surely take out some student loans, but I'll get by. It's god's will I do.

After my scholarships, grants, and a perkins loan ($4000), I have my freshmen year paid off. Books, lab fees, and other crapy fees they add to it is not covered Better then most people have to pay!

Fuck college, it is way to over rated. You don't have to go to college to get a decent paying job. You just need something after highschool.
*laughs ass off* That's such bullshit. Good luck working at McDonald's or Burger King the rest of your life, with your high school degree. Many, and most, places, in this day and age, despite NEEDING workers, will NOT hire right of high school. Even if you have a GED, you're still at risk of being screwed in the job area. A college degree is almost a must. My parents paid for my college. Now, it's up to me.
Hmmm, I think you misunderstood me. You dopn't have to go to COLLEGE there are other things out there like the Military, Trade Schools, Apprenticeships. Colloege is not the only thing out there to further your education.

College is pretty much the only thing that will get you a decent job, though. Trade schools and apprenticeships are nice, but they're not what employers are looking for. And, well, Military may advance your education, but, again, employers tend to look at education in 'primary' system over anything else. Or, at least, that's been my experience.
