try that. once it appears on iTunes again, I recommend using the option that allows you to reset the software. I can't be bothered checking the exact words for it.

I can't. Apple only offers phone support to those with possession of an iPod purchased within 90 days.

Sounds silly, but have you tried googling the problem? There is a plethora of very helpful web pages for very specific iPod problems such as your own. I know newer iPods don't come with a charger, but if you are that desperate to save your music, you could try looking for one on eBay and charging your iPod from the wall instead of your computer, which will try to synch it and do other shit instead of just charge it.

Google hasn't come up with anything... and I definitely would if my iPod hadn't deleted everything on it when I unplugged it from iTunes that first time.

reset all of it. take your ipod to someone else's house and format the drive. then reinstall itunes and try to get your music back on it. i think there are other ipod-compatible synchronizers out there (mediamonkey, for example). goodluck! i had a similar problem with my iriver e10 and its company synchronizer, but unfortunately i'm stuck with that. fucking companies.
