Not very surprising, though I do have a problem with some of the questions.

I've always wondered if I was actually the most left wing person on Livewire or not.

At the moment you're both the most economically restrictive and socially libertarian person, thus the furthest left.  Just barely beating Bearsy.

I would debate the term "economically restrictive". :O

Though perhaps this isn't the place.

Perhaps I should just leave it as economically left.

I'm probably gonna look for some of the more recent results in this thread for people who seem to visit the politics forum a bit to add to the chart.

As in economicly restrictive for most, next to nothing for a few.

bud what do you make of victor seven being the only person so far being socially conservative? it can't be that rare surely?

i kind of wonder what kind of responses she had to give to get that.

I would say what is actually economically restrictive is giving a majority of the country little to no say in economic policy. Economic freedom is the freedom for citizens to control economics through democratic means.

But again, this really is not the place to debate it.

Sometimes I think the political compass makes it difficult to score in the upper half, but perhaps it's just me. You have to answer stuff like abortion should be illegal, abstract art isn't art, the death penalty should be legal, spanking your children is good, schools should prepare children for jobs (and not education for education's sake), you can't be moral without a religion, etc. That means culturally you also have to be rather conservative.

I would attribute most of it to youth. The people on Livewire are all rather young, so I'd expect most to be on the bottom half. It's that way with a lot of websites that do this, although the ones with older people tend to have more on the upper half (usually the upper right, which is where you'd find a lot of conservatives). I'd expect if they had people who didn't use the internet a lot and those who are older take the political compass, you'd get a great deal more on the upper right. I doubt you'd get very many in any demographic in the upper left though, certainly not in the extremes.

I wonder how accurate these things are anyway.

I have a sneaking suspicion that wording on some of the questions and how much others are weighted would mess with the results.

Yea, really not a fan of the questions that wind up placing you as socially conservative. There in particular, they wind up only really applying to the US when taken from a western perspective.

Does anyone else have an answer for why no one with the exception of vector seven is above the axis? we all swing left to right economincally, but are we all truly on the libertarian side of the axis?
