Thinking about using one is making me feel kinda sick

Isn't it a bit messy?

It's a little weird to get used to at first. But there's really no mess. And it's like...a once a day thing, maybe twice if your flow is heavy.

It IS weird to actually see how much blood is coming out of you though.

Topic: Menstrual cup brands

I've never heard or seen such a thing and it sounds gross.

Here is some info on Menstrual Cups

A large Fleurcup Menstrual Cup with capacity roughly 3 times greater than the absorbency of a Super Tampon

A Menstrual Cup correctly positioned against the Cervix

A Menstrual Diaphragm correctly positioned against the Cervix

my exgf was 100% opposed to using one, I convinced her to try divacup because she kept getting UTIs from sleeping for ten hrs without getting up to change her tampon, she never went back

just don't leave it on a bathroom counter somewhere

It's just as sanitary as pads and tampons...maybe even more because there's nowhere for bacteria to breed...

It seems odd to me that someone would get UTIs from a tampon. I don't think I've ever heard of that, and I used tampons exclusively for a while.

When I looked it up just then it said years
Plus if it's medical grade silicon, it's totally hygienic and safe for a long time.

The Softcup? They definitely aren't good for years.

Classic menstrual cups can be used for years, but the Softcup is pretty much a disposable thing.

Ah gotcha

That's what I do. I mean honestly, who is going to put a tampon in and set an alarm for 8 hours later, especially when they're sleeping? Not me!! Yes, it does pose a higher risk for TSS, but it most likely won't happen.

I do. Quite often actually. I'm one of the few who actually values sleep and makes sure to get in bed at a reasonable hour. My usual sleep to wake time is 11pm-9am. Yes, I'll often wake up between 6 and 8, but I don't get up, I just roll over and go back to sleep because if I got up, then I'd be up for at least the next few hours, and for no reason.

I haven't slept in until 9am since like 2006.
