And I'm willing to take the risk. It's better than the alternative.

It only leaks if you don't insert it correctly, or if it gets too full. The latter is easy to avoid, and the former is also fairly easy with practice. If it does it's no worse than a tampon... you get a bit of dribbling, but it's not all suddenly just going to spill out, that's pretty much impossible.

Sometimes it can be good to monitor how much you're bleeding, so you can quickly detect any abnormalities and see a doctor about it.

It also does not dry out your vagina like tampons, which is a very good thing if you've had issues with infections and the like.

have never found tampons to dry me out

to each their own, though

I wouldn't call TSS a better alternative than stained sheets. :/

That being said, the 8 hours thing is basically a guideline. That way girls don't leave it in for 96 hours, get sick, and sue. The tampon companies can say "we TOLD you 8 hours MAX!" I think the most I've left a tampon in is for 10 hours on a lighter day. I do also regularly sleep with them in, but as mentioned I only sleep 8-9 hours, and sometimes get up to pee/change it. Generally tampons last me 4-6 hours, depending on the flow.

Annnnnd that was a ton of tmi.

So when you're happy (Hurray!), or sad (Aw!),
Or frightened (Eeek!), or mad (Rats!)
An interjection starts a sentence right.

I would. But everyone is different, and like I said, I'm willing to take the risk. I'm pretty sure I'm more likely to get seriously injured in a car accident than get TSS and that doesn't stop me from riding in the car!

I don't think wearing a pad during the night time will help you sleep peacefully. I used to wake up several times due to blotting issues, but then one of my friends suggested me to use coupe menstruelle during periods. I was not familiar with it so I went through the products itself, was satisfied and ordered one for me. Now I don't regret spending money on menstrual cups.
