I can't handle any tobacco now. Even after I started vaping I would still smoke hookah, but that wrecks my lungs now. Shit, even blunt wraps irritate my throat now.

I haven't had anything in a paper in some time now. Quit using Zig Zags for the smell, have some Elements, but haven't rolled in months.

Still not smoking. Been about a month now.

Nothing has really changed. I don't want a cigarette any more or less than I have the whole time.

Last post a month ago, haven't smoked in two. Still have the urge to do so all the time, but it's more like realizing all of the moments in a day where i was prompted to smoke for lack of any reason not to.

Still not smoking.

Surprising how bad it smells when you're not doing it. I remember how a cigarette smelled good in the same way a cup of coffee does, now it just smells like shit and swells up my sinuses.

Shit, I missed this topic when I was away from LW.

Anyway, congrats. I smoked on occasion between the ages of 17 and 23 (last July, to be exact). I was definitely a light smoker by all means, but knowing of the health risks and annual cost was enough to depress me from time-to-time. It's been nine months since I had my last cigarette, and it feels damn good to comprehend that this is the longest I've gone without smoking since I started in my youth. Sure, I still get mild cravings every once in awhile, but nowhere near the kind that used to creep up on me.

Things that helped: Excessive amounts of coffee, death/black metal, long walks around my neighborhood, and recalling the fact that the absolute strongest cravings of your life will peak after about 72 hours beyond your last cigarette... if you can get through that, you can get through any amount of time.  Also, take the money you would normally budget for cigarettes and go spend it on something cool.  You've earned it.

I smoked for 19 years. I wouldn't say I still get the urge to smoke, but I recognize the chances to do so all the time. Hmm, I could be smoking cigarettes right now, you know?

Congrats! I know how hard it can be and it's so important to give it up. It's a nasty habit in the end. Do you drink by chance?

I was a full blown smoker, downgraded to a light smoker, then I quit completely. Only thing I can't overcome is not smoking when I drink. It's such an overwhelming craving when. I have respect for former smokers who get past that.

Rarely, as in I still have a beer left from last year in the fridge. Had no problem drinking and not smoking, though. Honestly, I don't miss it at all.

And what was there to miss? Spending seven dollars every day or other day just to breathe an ever increasing amount of bullshit? I now have no concern as to the problems with modern tobacco. They could start using embalming fluid tomorrow and it wouldn't bother me a bit.

It's all about remembering that. Tastes like shit, smells like shit, and it isn't just tobacco in there.
