How does the private message system work?
How do I know when I have a new private message?
You will be alerted to a new private message when the animated icon ( ) appears in the upper left/right corner of your sidebar (far left/right of your screen). Clicking the icon will open the message.
Can I save a private message?
Certainly! To save a private message, open the message you wish to save, then click on the "Store" button near the top. Storing the message will move the message to your "Storage" area and prevent it from being purged as you receive more messages.
It should be noted that your storage is limited. How much it is limited depends on how much you've donated. Regular members can keep 50 messages, Ad Free can keep 100 messages, Patrons can keep 150 messages, and Sustainers can keep 300 messages.
Why aren't my messages showing up in my Outbox?
Before your sent messages begin showing up in your Outbox, you must first enable that option. To do so, open your Inbox (click the "Messages" link directly below your username on the sidebar). Once you've do so, near the top of the screen there will be an "Options" tab. Inside that page, there will be an option to enable your Outbox. Be sure to click "Update Options" to put the change into effect.
