How does LiveWire define harassment?

LiveWire moderators will act on member harassment when possible. However, before they will act, it's important that you realize that it is your burden to prove that you are being harassed. You must be able to prove to us that the person you are reporting has met two prongs: consistent and unprovoked behavior from the offender. If you fail to prove that the user you are reporting is consistently attacking you in an unprovoked manner it is very unlikely that action will be taken.

How can I best prove that I'm being harassed?

The most effective way to ensure that your harassment report will result in some type of action is to be as innocent as possible:
  • Blind Eye: When the person you feel is harassing you makes a rude comment towards you, do not reply to it. Instead, report the message so as to ensure that it is obvious who the offending member is. If you reply to their statements, then report it, it may look like it is an issue with both of you, rather than just an issue with one particular member.

  • Avoid Them: Once you realize that you are being harassed, you should then do your best to avoid the member. The more the user attacks you without you first going into their threads, or quoting them, or referring to them, the better it is for you and your harassment claim.
Note: Typically LiveWire moderators do not recognize private messages as harassment. The reason for this is because each member has been given the ability to block other members.
